The riding tunic is a core piece for the early and high Middle Ages — a time of courtly culture, crusades and emerging Gothic art, in which clothing expressed social status, faith and prosperity. Deep slits at both the front and back solve a practical problem: freedom of movement. Whether you're actually on horseback or just need to move quickly on foot, the slits give your legs the space they need without the fabric pulling or bunching up at your waist.

The fabric is a mix of 75% cotton and 25% linen: it linen gives a rough, historic texture, while the high cotton content ensures softness and breathable wearing comfort. So is the tunic sturdy enough for a day at the camp, but light enough to wear as a base layer on a warm day.

The design is deliberately simple, with long sleeves and a tight, round neckline, so that the riding tunic fits into the colour blue can be easily combined with a hood, belt or armor. Available in sizes S up to and including 2XL.
