Product description

This one fibula is based on a 10th century Viking Age robe pin, part of the famous Galloway hoard, one of the richest treasure finds ever made in Britain or Ireland. The hoard was only rediscovered in south-west Scotland in 2014 and contained, among other things, heeled silver, silver bracelets with runes and masterfully crafted Anglo-Saxon silver fibula's.

Performed in bronze, with a diameter of 6.2 cm, 5 mm smaller than the original. The center is dominated by a cross with five small buttons, with a beautiful play of closed and broken surfaces. On the back there is a sturdy needle construction, suitable for sturdy woolen fabrics.
