The hangeroc, also called apron dress, was worn from the 8th century and was a characteristic part of the costume of Viking women. Presumably a further development of the peplos-like dresses from the Germanic period, the hangeroc was closed with turtle brooches, between which metal chains or strings of beads were often worn. The quality of the brooches and the pendant itself said something about the social position of the wearer.

This hangeroc Tinna is made of sturdy, plain green fabric and has a loose fit with lace-up closure on the sides. The design has been kept simple, as can also be seen in archaeological finds from Hedeby and Birka.

Combined with a slip dress or shirt and a belt this hangeroc is the perfect one basic for the portrayal of a Viking woman, maid or shield maiden during reenactment and living history events.
