Product description

These steel gauntlets are modelled on late medieval examples (circa 1350-1415), the period in which full plate armour was refined and hand protection developed alongside the rest of the armour. The articulated plates follow the movement of your hand, so your fingers stay protected without losing your grip on your weapon or shield.

The gauntlets are made from 1.6 mm steel and hand-forged and riveted; the thickness may therefore vary slightly. On the inside there is an adjustable leather lining with a wrist and closure strap, allowing you to adjust the fit and keep the gauntlet firmly in place. Because the steel is untreated, it can rust: rub it regularly with a light coat of oil.

This pair is suitable for re-enactment, HEMA training and LARP where functional hand protection is desired. Choose your size based on your hand circumference, so that the gauntlets fit comfortably over an under-glove.
