Plate armor, such as cuirasses, leg armor, arm harness, or gauntlets, offers increased protection against impacts during mock battles. Ensure that you always wear sufficient padding under plate armor, for example in the form of a gambeson.

Plate armor is considered battle-ready at a steel thickness of at least 1.6 mm.

If you are not wearing extra padding: Measure the width of your leg. If you are wearing gambeson leg protection: Add 2.5 cm to the width of your leg. If you are wearing chainmail chausses: Add 0.5 cm to the width of your leg. Tip: Are you too narrow for this armor? You can easily pad the armor with padding.

Tip: how to adjust the finish of plate armor and weapons yourself

Luxury (polished) – polish the steel with metal polish or toothpaste. You can even polish an item to a mirror finish with this. Test on a small area first!

Hand-made (matte) – place the steel in cola for 40 minutes to 20 hours. Regularly check the matte effect. Smooth the finish with black sandpaper.

Antique (patinated) – place the steel in a damp environment (preferably outside) and let it rust. Remove the red layer of rust, leaving the corroded surface layer.

To keep your mail components or plate armor properly in place, it is best to attach leather laces to your gambeson and fasten them to the armor/mail. The armor will then stay better in place during fighting.

When packaging this item, we use only 100% recycled plastic and recycled paper/cardboard sourced from FSC certified forests. A large portion of the material is reused directly without the intervention of the recycling process. Recycle the material by separating your waste.

3. Paper packaging for jewelry and small items: have a plastic inner layer. Remove this, and then separate paper and plastic.
