A katana with a beautiful red high gloss lacquer scabbard. The grip wrapping is also red. The guard (tsuba) depicts scenes from the traditional Japanese NÅ'h theaters which are nowadays still popular, although they already emerged in the 13th century.
This katana has a length of 100 cm with a blade of 73,5 cm and a grip (tsuka) of 26,5 cm. It weighs 1100 g. The blade is made in the Shinogi-Zukuri style without a fuller, it is hand-forged of 1045 carbon steel and is sharp. The traditional grip wrapping is made of red cotton in the classic Hineri-Maki style and is underlaid with genuine shagreen. It has a red high gloss lacquered scabbard (saya) of wood in the Cha-Urumi style, the texture of the wood is still visible. The katana is delivered including a striking collector`s box.
