Product description
This Celtic helmet is a detailed replica of an original from the 1st century before Christ, found at the archaeological site of Alesia (present-day Alise-Sainte-Reine in the Côte-d'Or, France). This site is world-famous for the Siege of Alesia in 52 BCE, where Julius Caesar defeated the Gallic troops led by Vercingetorix.
The replica is made of 1.2 mm steel and features decorative lines around the skull cap and a narrow rim that flares slightly at the back to form a neck guard, with a semi-circular groove for extra detail. The cheek plates are each fastened with two rivets, the edges are rolled all around, and the interior is charred against corrosion. Upon delivery, a loose padded arming cap is provided for a comfortable, secure fit.
This helmet is suitable for re-enactment, living history, exhibition, and collectors who want to complete the equipment of a Gallic warrior or Roman legionary soldier.
