The murmillo was a gladiator from the Roman Empire age. He was armed as a legionary with a gladius and a small scutum, the legionary shield. He also wore a shin protector on his left leg, an arm protector for his sword arm and a helmet for protection. The murmillo is named after its shape, because the crest resembles a fish it is named after the Latin word murmo, which is a kind of fish.
