Product description

The basket hilted broadsword was mainly used by the Scots. Sometimes they are also called basket hilted claymores because the blade was often made of a broken claymore blade. The grip has a large basket that not only protected the hand but also provided a better balance.

This is a replica of a basket hilted broadsword from 1828. It is delivered including a scabbard. The basket is made of brass and the blade has two fullers. The blade has a length of 104 cm with a blade of 89,5 cm and a maximum width of 3,8 cm. It weighs approx. 1,7 kg.
