Product description
The justaucorps emerged in the second half of the seventeenth century and became a permanent part of the men's wardrobe during the eighteenth century. The justaucorps developed from the casaque, a spacious traveling coat, into a more tightly cut jacket with a continuous button closure from neck to hem — hence the name, which means 'just around the body'. This garment later formed the basic for the frak and the modern three-piece suit.
This justaucorps is made of gray canvas cotton with a satin lining, and has a double row of buttons, a slightly flared cut and wide cuffs.
