This forged iron fibula is a typical representative of the so-called Middle La Tène scheme, which characterizes the Celtic Iron Age from about 260 to 120 BC.

Performed in iron, with dimensions of 9.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm. Characteristic are the high curved, window-shaped bracket and the long, triangular base that is bent back to the bracket and secured there with a clamp ring. The spirals on either side are usually wound on four to six sides.

Fibula's of this type were used by both Celtic men and women to dress or a cloak on the shoulders, and were widespread from the Iberian Peninsula to Asia Minor. An authentic addition to your Celtic reenactment kit.
