This special pendant is based on a decorative plate of a 5th-century horse harness, found in an Alemannic grave in Niederstotzingen, probably of Frankish make. The original piece of jewelry has been transformed into a wearable pendant.

The edge is made of fine jewelery bronze; the center plate with entwined mythical creatures is made of solid material sterling silver and is recessed into the bronze base plate. A particularly richly executed piece.

The combination of materials and craftsmanship makes it a real showpiece for collectors and enthusiasts of early medieval jewelry.
