Introduction / Purpose
Core Information
IC (In Character) means that you act, speak, and behave as if you are your character. Everything you say or do belongs to the game and the world of the event.
OOC (Out of Character) means that you temporarily step out of your role. You then communicate as yourself, for example, to discuss practical matters, share safety information, or solve a problem.
In camps:
some zones are entirely IC
other zones (or moments) are explicitly OOC
sometimes clear agreements or signals are used to indicate what is IC or OOC
This separation helps to:
enhance the game experience
prevent misunderstandings
to make safety and practical communication possible
Practical tips / application
Respect whether a camp or zone is IC or OOC.
Use agreed signals or terms if you need to speak OOC in an IC area.
In case of doubt, ask the organization or camp coordinator how IC and OOC are arranged.

Conclusion
IC and OOC clarify when you are in character and when you are not. By respecting these agreements, the camp remains safe, clear, and pleasant for all participants.
