These Viking trousers are inspired by Early Medieval finds and images from Haithabu, one of the most important Viking trading centers between the ninth and eleventh centuries. Archaeological evidence suggests that Norsemen, traders and common people preferred loose leg clothing that was tied together at the ankle.
The trousers are made from 100% wool with a diamond twill weave and feature a wide, pleated cut with inset pieces on the front and back, inspired by the complex seam constructions found in the trouser fragments.
These trousers are suitable for re-enactment and living history and are often combined with leg wrappings and a short tunic for a complete Viking appearance.
