Rectangular cloaks like this were worn by classical and early medieval peoples in Europe, including the Germanic peoples and the Vikings. They were secured in different ways with different types of brooches depending on the time period — ideal for reenactment from late Roman times to the early Middle Ages.

The cloak is woven in authentic diamond twill from 100% wool, a weaving technique that has also been archaeologically proven in early medieval textile finds.
