The cotehardie was a popular item of clothing in the fourteenth and early fifteenth centuries gentlemen position: close-fitting, with a long row of buttons that emphasized the waist and shoulders. This jacket brings back that late medieval line: tightly cut and worn over a shirt or chemise, possibly supplemented with a surcotte over it for a complete costume.

The jacket is made from a heavy brocade fabric with a woven jacquard pattern, giving it a rich, textured look that suits merchants, guild masters or gentlemen with respect. The inside of the jacket is lined with smooth satin, so that it glides comfortably over your underwear. In addition to the row of buttons on the chest, the forearms of the sleeves also have buttons, for the characteristic tight fit around the wrist. Colour: red.
