One of the most famous races in the fantasy genre are Elves. There are many subraces of Elves and in every fantasy world they're a little different. Among the many types of Elves are the High Elves. In this Get the Look blog, we're showing you one of the many ways you can bring a High Elf character to life.
Dress
When we think of High Elves, we generally think more of elegance and beauty than warriors or rangers. High Elves are often depicted in long, flowing dresses or robes, with beautiful details. That's why we went for a dress with large sleeves and damask details.
Necklace
High Elves are a wonderful fantasy race for small details, like jewelry. Elegant shapes and natural elements fit perfectly with a High Elf look.
High elf ears
The most recognizable feature of Elves are their pointed ears. The exact shape and length varies by book, film or game, giving you plenty of room for your own preference. For this High Elf look, we used slightly longer ears.
Wigs
While there are no set rules about hair colour for High Elves, some of the most common colours are very light blond or silver white. Elves also generally have long, straight hair. You don't need to spend years growing out your own hair or bleaching it intensively to achieve such hairstyles. A wig is a much simpler option.
Shoes
For this look, we wanted to keep the shoes simple and relatively elegant. With a tight, basic ankle boot or shoe, you'll already get quite far.
Staff
Within the concept of a High Elf, you can still play with the different roles they can have within their society. The fact that they're a High Elf doesn't mean they can't also be a mage or warrior. If you want to make your High Elf a magical character, a beautifully decorated staff can be a great accessory.
Sword
High Elves may be elegant and refined, but they're still skilled fighters when needed. Elven weapons usually have a more curved shape for an elegant feel. They're also well-crafted with nice details like engravings.
Shield
While High Elves are skilled fighters, they're not invincible. They still need protection in battle, so a shield can be a great addition to your High Elf look if you choose the warrior route. Because there are so many different depictions of High Elves, there's no one specific type of shield you have to use for this.
