These ankle-high shoes are based on archaeological finds from Schleswig and Konstanz in Germany, among others, and are suitable for the period between approximately 1100 and 1400 AD. They belong to the type 'turn shoes', a common shoe model in the Middle Ages. The name turn shoes refers to the way they were made: the shoes were initially sewn inside out. Only after the upper leather was attached to the sole were the entire shoes turned inside out. This ensured that the seams were on the inside, which reduced wear and made the shoes more comfortable. This technique makes the turn shoes an historically authentic choice for reenactment or medieval festivals. Please note: historic leather sole are not suitable for modern surfaces such as asphalt and gravel, the shoes will wear quickly if you walk on these for longer periods.

Care & maintenance
Just as with weaponry, you can care for your shoes and leatherware by applying a little ballistol after cleaning. This prevents the leather from drying out.
When packaging this item, we use exclusively 100% recycled plastic and recycled paper/cardboard from FSC certified forests. We reuse a large portion of the material directly without the involvement of a recycling process. Recycle the material by separating your waste.
1. Cardboard: separate paper or reuse.
2. plastic cushions, garment bags and plastic tape: separate plastic or reuse. Optionally pierce the cushions with a needle for volume reduction.
3. Paper packaging for jewelry and small items: have a plastic inner layer. Remove this, and then separate paper and plastic.
