Product description
The one-and-a-half sword is a sword that in terms of size fell between a single-handed sword and a two-handed sword. It could be used with one hand, but you could also optionally place a second hand on top of the grip and partly on the pommel so you could exert extra force during combat.
This sword is a replica of an Oakeshott type XVII. This type of sword was popular from approximately 1355 to 1425. During this period, the number of foot soldiers and archers in armies increased. The elite heavily armored knights wore supplements as extra protection against foot soldiers and archers. As a result, the sword had to be designed to stab between armor plates during this period. During this period, weapons such as the war hammer and mace also came into use, with which armor could be severely damaged.
This sword is made from high quality carbon steel with a hardness of 50-55 HRC. It has a black leather grip and a sharp blade and point. It is supplied including a black scabbard with steel fittings.
