Amulet Mother Goddess Gundestrup Kettle, bronze

Product description

This one amulet shows the mother goddess of the Gundestrup Cauldron: an impressive silver cauldron over 2,100 years old, found in 1891 in a Danish peat bog and now on display in the National Museum of Denmark. The cauldron is dated between 150 BC. and the beginning of our era and combines Celtic themess with Near Eastern and Thracian silversmithing techniques. The inner plate depicts a torc-bearing goddess flanked by sun wheels and fantastic animals; her visible breasts symbolize fertility, and she possibly represents a Celtic goddess of territory, fertility and rulership.

Performed in bronze, with dimensions of approx. 3.3 x 4.6 cm.
