Before numbers on paper were used, the Romans did calculations with an arithmetic board: an oiled beech wood panel with compartments on which you could perform addition sums and (simplified) other calculations with loose stones.
A tangible way to experience Roman arithmetic — fun for reenactment, history education or as a decorative object. Not suitable as toys for little ones children (choking hazard), recommended from 14 years and under adult supervision.
