Product description

The pole weapon is a polearm used in Europe from the 15th to the 19th century. Like many polearms, it descends from an agricultural tool, the hay fork. Unlike a fishing trident, the pole weapon rarely had barbs and usually had only two straight tines, parallel or slightly spread apart. Because it was much easier to handle than a sword, it was often used when no spear was available, sometimes with hooks to catch blows or pull a rider from his horse.

This head is forged from a single piece of carbon steel and deliberately left unpolished; the visible forging marks give it a rustic appearance. The two tines are pointed, the edges not rounded. With two pre-drilled holes, the head is easy to mount on a wood shaft; shaft and fastening materials are not included.

The head is intended for collectors, as decoration and as a historical accessory for re-enactment. Not suitable for combat or sparring.
