Product description
This battle-ready replica recreates a 10th-century Viking helmet excavated from a burial mound in Gjermundbu, Norway. The original was found broken into nine pieces and later reconstructed. Today it is on display at the Statens Historical Museum in Oslo. The `glasses` protect both the eyes and the nose, while the chainmail gives the neck flexible protection.
Made from 2 mm thick steel, the helmet is unpolished and darkened to match the original. The chainmail neck protection consists of riveted round mail rings. It fits head circumferences up to 62 cm and weighs about 2.9 kg.
