Recommended combination
Product description
Miniature objects such as staves, Thor's hammers, fire strikes and sickles were, like miniature weapons, used as amulet worn — often several copies attached together to one ring. Such combinations are associated with the practices of the völva, the Old Norse ritual specialist; possibly she even wore them on her staff, where they could make a ringing sound during rituals. This ring is based on a find from cremation graves near Indvik, Norway, 10th century.
Performed in bronze, with a height of approx. 3.8 cm and a ring diameter of approx. 2 cm.
