This ornamental disc, featuring snake depictions, was widely used by the Alemanni during the Early Middle Ages, from 500 to 700 AD. In the Merovingian period, such discs were an essential part of women’s attire within Alemannic culture. The disc is crafted from bronze, with a contrasting central part.

The Alemannic disc pendant has a diameter of 4.8 cm.
