Product description
In Norse mythology, a valkyrie is a female figure who guides the souls of fallen warriors to Valhalla, the hall of Odin, where they become einherjar — warriors who prepare for the events of Ragnarök. Valkyries are often depicted accompanied by ravens, swans or horses, and appear in sources such as the Poetic and Prose Edda, the Heimskringla and the Njáls saga. The Old English word wælcyrge also indicates kinship with similar figures such as the Norns and the dísir.
The original of amulet was found in Suffolk, England (2002), and has a Scandinavian origin. Performed in bronze, with dimensions of approx. 4 x 1.8 cm.
