Stylized ax motifs like this amulet go back to a tradition from the Copper Age, when Proto-Indo-European steppe herders began from 3,500 BC. used copper and later bronze axes as a symbol of aristocracy. This specimen dates from Celtic times, ca. 1st century BC; the original was gold.
Performed in bronze, with dimensions of approximately 1.5 x 4 cm.
