Viking Age headgear came in various forms, from pointed woolen hats to round felt hats. The most characteristic model is the simple, conically shaped cap, the so-called húfa, which is depicted on Gotlandic statue stones and on bronze statues of Thor and Freya. Some specimens had a downward-hanging point or edge fur, as finds from Birka suggest.

This hat is made of a herringbone wool blend and finished with an edge of artificial fur, which refers to the richer variants from the sources. The warmth of wool keeps you dry and warm during cold winter months or early mornings at camp.
