Product description
A doublet is a tight-fitting outer garment that was usually worn under a robe until the end of the 15th century. cloak or houppelande was worn. In the 16th century it became more common as a visible top layer, combined with a matching jacket, and women also started wearing the garment.
The doublet is made of velvet (velvet) with a lined inside cotton and metal buttons on the front. Do not machine wash this garment - hand wash to preserve the velvet structure.
Combine the doublet with a shirt or blouse underneath, and possibly a long one cloak for a complete ensemble at court occasions.
