Product description
Hoods developed before 1200 from simple hoods with a short one cloak which covered the head, neck and shoulders. The hood could be pushed off the head and left hanging on the back while wearing cloak remained around the shoulders. During the Middle Ages, various models emerged, including longer points and more decorative designs.
The chaperon was a common form of headgear during the Middle Ages. This model is made of sturdy canvas and consists of a hood with a short shoulder cape (pelerine). The lyre pipe and the decorative fringes along the hem give the chaperon a striking medieval appearance. The sturdy material also offers some protection against wind and weather.
This hood is suitable for putting together a medieval outfit and can be worn during reenactment, historical events, medieval festivals and LARP.
