Product description
In the high and late Middle Ages (1000-1500 AD), men of the lower classes wore a tunicella, an 'over-tunic' with a built-in hood, for agricultural work in the cold months or when traveling. It is perfect for reenacting medieval travelers, it has a split so you can walk, run and ride in it, it protects the legs against the cold and has a hood for bad weather. This is also for monks or hermits tunic ideal.
The tunic is made in one colour which was borne by the poorer classes of society. The colours red, blue, purple and variations on it were only for the elite. The pigments to make these colors were very expensive.
