Product description
Landsknechts were the famous German mercenary soldiers of the late 15th and 16th centuries: infantrymen who, following the Swiss example (the Reislaufer), fought with long pikes and arquebuses, initially in the service of the Habsburg emperors. They played a decisive role in battles such as the Battle of Pavia (1525) and the Siege of Vienna (1529), and became infamous for their exuberant clothing style: bright color combinations, ostentatious cuts and enormous puffed sleeves that defied the strict dress codes of their time.
The Friedrich shirt has wide sleeves with fitted cuffs, combined with a high collar and lacing for a refined finish - can be worn loose or laced, under a doublet or armor.
