Product description
This groat of Henry VIII was originally struck between 1544 and 1547. To finance his wars, Henry reduced the fineness of his silver and gold coins, a measure that earned him the nickname 'Old Coppernose'. The obverse shows his portrait, the reverse a long cross over a royal coat of arms.
Henry VIII is best known for his six wives and the break with Rome, but he also established a fleet of more than fifty ships, including the Mary Rose, and the royal armouries. This replica is cast directly from an original and made in lead-free tin.
An attractive coins for collectors and for those who re-enact the Tudor period.
