Safety with Projectiles
During re-enactment battles where arrows or other projectiles are used, extra caution is required. Wearing the right protection reduces the risk of injury, but can never completely eliminate it.
Helmet and Visor
Make sure the visor stays closed at all times during projectile firing.
Keep your head low and protected, even if your helmet has a visor.
A closed visor reduces the risk of direct contact with arrows or projectiles, but offers only limited protection. A projectile can slip through gaps in the visor or other armour parts.
Extra Protection
If you carry a shield, it is advised to hold it above your head during projectile attacks.
This provides extra coverage and can help absorb a direct hit to the head or upper body.

Even with a closed visor, a projectile can find a vulnerable spot.
