The crossbow is a ranged weapon in which a bow, also called the prod, is mounted crosswise on a wooden stock that you hold like the butt of a rifle. Instead of arrows, crossbows fire bolts or quarrels. Those who shot with it were called crossbowmen or arbalests, after the arbalest: a European crossbow from the 12th century. The pistol crossbow was the smallest type of crossbow and, thanks to its compact design, can be aimed with one hand.

This pistol crossbow is carefully crafted in a small workshop in Italy. The stock is made of sturdy wood, while the prod, the stirrup, the safety mechanism, and the trigger are made of browned steel. The safety pin blocks the trigger; always secure it before cocking the crossbow so it doesn't accidentally fire. For transport, you remove the safety pin at the front, after which you can detach the stirrup and prod. The string is made of Dacron.

With a draw weight of approximately 30 pounds, this crossbow deliberately has less power than sporting equipment. It is made for LARP and fires bolts with a shaft of at least 28 cm. Always use it responsibly and within the rules of your event.
