This arming doublet is made after 15th century originals. Arming doublets were worn under plate armor from the 15th century onwards. The laces on the doublet make it possible to attach armor parts directly to it.

The arming doublet was a further development of the gambeson and the 14th century pourpoint. On the inside, the doublet is quilted, which protects the body against blows from armor parts. In late-Gothic style (1450-1500), voiders and a mail skirt (gousset) were often added to the arming doublet. In late 15th-century Italy, this also became a civilian fashion: men who were not knights wore arming doublets, probably because the garment suggested status and chivalry.

This arming doublet is made of suede leather, giving it an extra authentic appearance. Leather straps and aiglets can be attached to the doublet, to which armor can be fastened. You can close it at the front with laces. The inside is made of breathable cotton and wool felt.
