This spectacle frame is a replica of a 14th-15th century original found in Bergen-op-Zoom in the Netherlands. Spectacle frames like these were worn everywhere in Europe from the 14th century onwards. Prescription lenses can be placed in this frame. Ideal for glasses-wearing medieval reenactors. Unlike today's glasses, these were not worn with temples in the Middle Ages. They were simply clipped to the nose or tied behind the ears with leather laces. That is why two small holes have been made on both sides of the frame. The glasses are supplied without reading, the frames are cut at the bottom so that they can be pulled apart a few millimeters to insert a lens. A small braided elastic serves as a closure. Alternatively, a piece of wire can also be used, as was common in the Middle Ages.
