Product description

Tunic like these were basic garments worn by men throughout Europe from the Early to Late Medieval period. The tunic can be worn separately or as an under-tunic with, for example, another colour over-tunic. In colder climates, they were combined with trousers and leg wrappings.

In some periods, the length of the tunic indicated the social status of the wearer. In Ancient Rome, the tunic was worn loosely and simply with a basic design. The Vikings and Germanic peoples wore their tunic less loosely with long sleeves, trousers, leg wrappings and an under-tunic.
