Product description
A maul is a war hammer with a heavy head, with a spear-like point wider than that of the horseman's spear. From the end of the 14th century, this weapon was mainly used by foot soldiers - during the Paris Revolt (1382) the insurgents seized 3000 mauls from the armory, earning them the nickname "Maillotins". From the 15th century, the cavalry also used shorter war hammers, and in landsknecht armies they became a status symbol for lower nobility, almost equal to the saber.
This maul is made of carbon steel with a wooden handle.
