Product description
This one bracelet is based on a find from the Castlethorpe Hoard in Buckinghamshire, a region where several treasure finds have been made that are in the tradition of Celtic and Gallo-Roman culture. Such treasures were probably intended not so much for concealment, but as offerings to the gods or the powers of the land — bracelets such as these (oath rings) were offered to reinforce the oath-bound relationship with the gods. The stylized snake motif at the ends represented healing. The original is in the British Museum.
Performed in bronze, with a length of 17.5 cm.
