Painting an Authentic Druid Drum
While some people prefer to keep their druid drum natural, others love adding a personal touch! You can do this by painting your own design onto the druid drum's skin.
What do you need?
-Pencil
-Acrylic paint or acrylic markers
-Brushes
-Spray varnish
How to paint your drum:
Step 1:
Sketch the outline of your design with a pencil. You can also create a stencil first and trace it onto the drum.
Start colouring in your design with acrylic paint and brushes, or use acrylic markers. Apply thin layers. It's better to apply two thin coats than one thick one.
It can be a bit tricky to grip the drum while the paint is still wet, because it's easy to accidentally get paint on your hands or fingers. You might then accidentally transfer it to a spot where it shouldn't be. You can always let each section dry before moving on to the next one for a neat result.
To protect the paint, you can apply a layer of varnish over it. We recommend spray varnish, as it's light and leaves a thin coat.
