Product description

This replica sword is based on historical swords from the eighth century, the Viking era. The Vikings highly regarded strength and power, in the early Middle Ages the Vikings plundered monasteries and other places of wealth. At the same time, the Vikings were also farmers, especially opportunists who had to live in difficult and cold areas. This sword has the typical five-lobed pommel of the original Viking swords, such swords were worn by Vikings during raids and battles, Vikings seeking a place in Valhalla. The sword has a long, wide fuller, so it has a low weight and an excellent balance. It feels comfortably in the hand. It is delivered including a leather Viking scabbard with decorated motifs. The semi-sharp blade is forged from 1065 carbon steel and tempered with a hardness of 48-52 HRC. This sword is a beautiful sword for the wall in your own Viking hall and great for your Viking costume or Vikings Cosplay. If you blunten the blade, it is a perfect sword for sword fighting, Historical European Martial Arts and Viking reenactment battles.

Prevent rust and corrosion by oiling your weapons regularly. Remove rust easily with black sandpaper. Remove burrs with a whetstone. Make sure you have removed all burrs before using a battle-ready weapon, as they can cause wounds.

Maintenance & care
Just as with weaponry, you can care for your shoes and leatherware by applying a little Ballistol after cleaning. This prevents the leather from drying out.

Tip: How to adjust the finish of your armour and weaponry
Luxurious (polished)- polish the steel with metal polish or toothpaste. You can even give the item a mirror-like polish. Test on a small surface first!
Handmade (matte)- soak the steel in cola for 40 minutes to 20 hours. Check regularly and treat with black sandpaper.
Antique (patinated) leave the steel to rust for some time in a damp environment, preferably outside. Remove the red layer of rust, to reveal the corroded top layer.
