Product description

This sword is an early type Viking sword, modeled after an 8th-century original found in Norway. Around this time, Viking swords featured large pommels, often extending into a triangular shape.

It is classified as a Petersen Type A. Swords of this type were made in the second half of the 8th century AD and were a direct successor to the older Merovingian spatha, which was widely used during the Vendel period. The original was made during a time when Viking raids intensified, particularly in the British Isles, Ireland, and the Baltic region.

This sword measures 90 cm in length and has a hardwood grip. The blade is made of carbon steel, and the sword comes with a leather scabbard.
