The seax is a short sword without a guard and a straight blade. It was available in different lengths. This type of sword was mainly used during the early Middle Ages, for example by Vikings, Germanic people, Normans, Anglo-Saxons, etc. According to some sources, the seax was much more popular than the sword. In addition to a weapon, a seax was also simply a useful tool in everyday farm life, so you could use it to skin animals, cut textiles and leather and use it for gardening.

This seax is decorated with a brass triquetra on top of the grip and a Nordic knot motif below the grip. This motif possibily symbolizes eternity. It has been a widely used symbol for centuries. The grip is made of wood. It comes with a brown leather scabbard.

Tip: How to adjust the finish of your armour and weaponry
Luxurious (polished)- polish the steel with metal polish or toothpaste. You can even give the item a mirror-like polish. Test on a small surface first!
Handmade (matte)- soak the steel in cola for 40 minutes to 20 hours. Check regularly and treat with black sandpaper.
Antique (patinated) leave the steel to rust for some time in a damp environment, preferably outside. Remove the red layer of rust, to reveal the corroded top layer.

Please note. After finishing the product yourself, the warranty and return right expire. Celtic WebMerchant is not responsible for the obtained result.
