This handmade Viking knife is a replica of an original excavated in Gotland. Both the knife and the scabbard are complete reconstructions. Brass and bronze scabbards like this were used all over Scandinavia and the Baltic Sea areas during the Early Middle Ages. Original knives have been excavated at i.a. Birka and Haithabu.
This knife has a hand-forged carbon steel blade with a 56-58 HRC hardness. It is 25 cm long with a 12 cm blade. The front of the wooden grip has a bone ring.
The scabbard is ornamented with brass decorations. Product details:
