This Early Medieval scale armor is based on several originals, for instance those found in Visby and Birka. Scale armor was worn all over Europe from the 4th century AD onwards. From the large variety of archaeological finds it can be stated that the scale armor was popular among a.o. the Roman auxiliae, Germanic and Frankish tribes, Vikings, Mongolian hordes and traditionally also with the Persians.
This armor is completely handmade of mild steel. The armor can easily be adjusted to the correct size and is suitable for all sizes of chest circumferences. The plates can be delivered separately.
