Stirups Gagelbosch, 1500-1550

This is a replica of a pair of stirrups found at the castle grounds of Gagelbosch in Gestel, the Netherlands. The original pair was used between 1500 and 1550 and protected part of the foot of the rider. Similar examples can be found in the Kaisersburg in Nurmberg

This pair of stirrups is hand forged from carbon steel. They are 14 cm high and 11 cm wide each and weigh 900 g per pair.

Made by Celtic Britain, commissioned by the Dutch National Military Museum.
