Product description

The shashka is a sabre that was original used by the 12th and 13th century mountain tribes of the Caucasus. This weapon is a very fast and light cavalry weapon and for these reasons it was later on used by the Cossacks. The Shashka was used until the 19th century. During the last centuries these sabres have especially been used in the Balkan ragion between Austria and Turkey.

This shashka is completely handmade. It has a grip of oakwood and is 94,5 cm long. The blade is 80 cm long and the grip 14 cm, it weighs 790 grams.
