Sealing wax was used after the Roman era for sealing a letter or, from the 16th century onwards, envelopes. The receiver of a letter knew that the message was still unread when it arrived with an intact seal. This traditional sealing wax in stick shape has a wick for convenient use. Light the wick and let the wax melt, let it drip on the surface. Press the seal in the fluid wax.
