The sax, seax or scramaseax is a large knife that was worn by European men in the 5th until the 11th century. Typical for the seax is that it has a single-edged blade and that it is worn horizontally, with the sharp edge upwards.

Seaxes like this were popular around 650 among the Franks, Saxons and Scandinavian people. This seax is battle-ready with a blunt edge and a rounded point. The wooden handle parts are screwed to the blade. The included scabbard is made of brown leather and has two belt loops.

This seax has a length of 44 cm, the blade has a length of 30,5 cm and is delivered including a scabbard. It weighs approx. 0,5 kg.
